Welcome to Longspring Christian Church (LCC). If you are a visitor, I invite you to browse the site to see what LCC offers. We are a growing church on the move in Shreveport/Bossier City. God has given us great vision. We are only at the beginning of something big that God has planned for each of us personally and corporately as a church. I am excited about the vision God has given me. It is BIG! Bigger than any one of us could achieve on our own let alone with the few of us that are divinely connected.
God has great things in store for LCC. This is an exciting time for us as we are at the very beginning of being planted. We invite you to join in. You can be a witness to seeing a small seedling of a church grow into a large solid tree. That’s what God has planned for LCC. He showed me a small twig growing into a large healthy tree where people can come and find shade and rest under it. This shade represented covering, protection, and restoration. Longspring will be a refuge for people to come and find love, acceptance, and truth.
In order for lives to change, it requires more than simply “getting saved”. Once a person takes the initial step in the process of salvation, they must then immediately be discipled. A disciple is one who learns and is taught. There are real spiritual disciplines and attitudes required for a person to fellowship with the Holy Spirit and know His life-changing power. But it starts with learning how to be like Jesus through teaching, watching examples of Christ-like behavior being modeled, and practicing what you learned. That’s how children learn. That’s how believers learn. There is no shortcut. There is no other way to the freedom and experiencing the abundant life that Christ speaks about in His Word.
At LCC, there will be a number of training and bible study opportunities available for discipleship. Through discipleship, believers will grow, mature, and then be able to serve in confidence through the power of the Holy Spirit. They will be able to go out and minister to others in the community to reproduce what is happening in their lives in the lives of others.
God places members in the body as He sees fit. At LCC, you will find your place. There are many ministries on which to serve. There is a lot to be done. Be ready to step up and fulfill your God-given role in the Body of Christ. Just as every organ and member of the human body is expected to function according to its position and ability, we as members of the Body of Christ are also expected to function. The heart can’t do what the liver was created to do. The brain can’t do what the fingers were intended to do. It takes them all working together to get the job done. With you being in place, we can get the job done. God has a purpose and plan for your life and it’s found in His service.
We welcome your ideas, creativity, and abilities. Get ready. Get excited! There are great things on the horizon for you at LCC. Imagine…in all that He’s doing, He wants to do it with you.
God Bless,
Pastor Orlando McDay
